Deer Season In Missouri Starting In September

Deer Season In Missouri Starting In September

Missouri is a state that has an abundance of deer and this month begins deer season.

Early this morning my hubby and I was finishing breakfast, when outside I noticed two small fawns jumping and playfully scampering around in our back yard.  Before I could grab the camera, they had Missouri Deer Season in Septemberdisappeared.  I thought that Mama Deer was probably close by.

Instead, they reappeared near our neighbor's home, along with the neighbor's Blue Heeler.  She was making sure the fawns were staying close to the home.  Looking closer, we realized the neighbors had rescued these two homeless fawns and had been feeding them and allowing them to live with their dog.  The dog has become their mother replacement.

As soon as they get a little older, they will be released back into the wild on a large farm.  The funniest thing is watching the dog and the deer play and frolic together.
Archery season for Missouri Deer begins September 15.
